Over 50 people representing Moving Forward Network member organizations and affiliates from across the country met in Los Angeles this week to support Equity Summit 2015 and work on the MFN Zero Emissions Campaign.
A sample of the member organizations that came together to make this a wonderful event – Air Alliance Houston, Citizens for a Sustainable Future, Coalition for a Safe Environment, Comite Civico del Valle, Diesel Health Project, Earthjustice, East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice, Communities for Clean Ports, Ironbound Community Corporation, Long Beach Alliance for Children with Asthma, National Nurses United, National Resources Defense Council, New Jersey Environmental Justice Alliance, Occidental College Urban & Environmental Policy Institute, Puget Sound Sage, Southern California Environmental Health Sciences Center, and West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project.
Our activities included a very informative Leveraging Freight Infrastructure in Equity Movements mobile tour around the Port of Long Beach, membership meetings, a member dinner, the East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice Fundraiser at a fun local bar, and work on the Zero Emissions Campaign.
We’ll post more about our events and more photos soon. In the meantime, if you haven’t already done it, please support the Zero Emissions Campaign by signing our petition!
