Truckers and communities are victims of congestion at the Port of New York and New Jersey

This is an informative story from the American Public Media show Marketplace Morning Report, but it has a couple of blind spots.  As the MFN member who forwarded this to me wrote:

“It’s interesting that they don’t mention anything about the pollution from all those idling trucks and the fact that the drivers get paid nothing while waiting for hours – they end up getting paid something like $200/load – so if it takes them all day to get one load they can end up losing money when they go to work…”
