This is a very good story about two Chicago environmental groups, the Little Village Environmental Justice Organization (LVEJO) and the Southeast Environmental Task Force, and their allies, who are focusing a spotlight on the huge numbers of oil trains crossing through the city, and in many cases, parking with the locomotives running in overburdened neighborhoods.
One interesting thing about lVEJO – they are operating with a 20 year plan to achieve an environmental vision put together by over 400 people representing dozens of private sector, community, and governmental organizations.
