Houston Ship Channel Oil Spill Update

As of Monday evening, the Houston Ship Channel is still closed, and at least 80 ships are waiting to enter into or from the Gulf of Mexico. The Coast Guard announced they would reopen the ship channel gradually.

Breaking news reported reported by KTRK-TV in Cleanup in Houston Ship Channel goes on, as does investigation on Monday evening:

A search of the Coast Guard’s accident investigation reports over the past ten years shows the barge ‘Miss Susan’ has been involved in eighteen incidents or accidents. Six of those were collisions with other vessels, docks and bridges.”
