Moving Forward Network at the National Environmental Justice Advisory Council Meeting in San Diego

The Moving Forward Network (MFN) sent a large contingent to the meeting of the National Environmental Justice Advisory Council (NEJAC) now underway in San Diego.

A few highlights:

The most memorable event yesterday was a presentation by EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy.  One of her comments that resonated with MFN members –  “Pollution has a cost that should be borne by the polluters – not the community around them.”

Charles Lee, EPA’s Deputy Associate Administrator for Environmental Justice gave a very interesting presentation on the draft EJ 2020 Action Agenda, and invited comments and suggestions.

Angelo Logan of the MFN was on the Community Voices panel yesterday morning.

Many of our members talked during the public comment period, which lasted until late into the evening.
