EPA air monitoring benches operating in four cities, live data online

After several years of effort, the EPA Office of Research and Development has installed Village Green monitoring benches and placed them in operations in four cities – Durham, Kansas City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C., with installations planned in Hartford and Oklahoma City.

Equipment in the solar and wind powered benches monitor Particulate Matter 2.5, ozone, and report meteorological data.

Read more about them in a blog post by the EPA experts who designed and built the benches and the online dashboard at Expanding the Village Green Project to Measure Local Air Quality, and check out the live data at the AirNow Village Green data portal.
