Environmental Group Sues over Jacksonville Port Dredging

Following approval of Federal funds for dredging the St. Johns River, the Public Trust Environmental Legal Institute of Florida raised concerns over environmental impacts, and sued to force the release of dredging study documents.

In 2011, a Jacksonville Port Authority board member was convicted of bribery in connection with dredging contracts.

Current news on this controversial project is shown below.  More information is available in the Port of Jacksonville Dredging Collection, established by the Moving Forward Network for the use of concerned citizens and organizations.

Note: at the time of publication of this blog post, Scribd, the host of the MFN Resource Library, is not showing documents in many collections.  It is anticipated that this problem will be solved soon.  In the meantime, if you would like, feel free to email kirkendall1@gmail.com to have a set of documents sent by email.
